Nagaland reports 15 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death

Kohima, August 1 (PTI): Nagaland on Monday reported 15 fresh COVID-19 infections, 12 more than the previous day, pushing the tally to 35,793, an official said. The COVID-19 death toll rose to 771 as one more patient succumbed to the disease in Kohima district, he said. Wokha district reported three infections, Dimapur, Kohima, Longleng, Mokokchung and Mon districts reported two cases each and Kiphire and Zunheboto districts one infection each, out of the 151 samples tested, he said. Eight more patients recovered from COVID-19 during the day taking the total number of recoveries to 33,432, he said. Nagaland currently has 87 active COVID-19 cases, while 1,503 patients have migrated to other states thus far, he said. Altogether 4,77,278 samples have been tested in the state so far. A total of 18,62,495 doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the state till Sunday, the official said.

Diphupar Vill Council expels one

Chümoukedima, August 1 (MExN): The Diphupar Village Council (DVC), Chümoukedima on Monday stated that on pursuant to the resolution adopted by general public rally on July 25, 2022, the council has expelled one Khekhaholi for a period of six months w.e.f. August 4, 2022 “on account of selling alcohol.” This was stated in a press release issued by DVC Chairman, Ghuzui Shohe and Secretary, Tiatemsu Ao. 

Kiphire DC issues monsoon advisory

KIPHIRE, AUGUST 1 (MExN): The Kiphire Deputy Commissioner has issued an advisory requesting the public to refrain from going to the riverside for fishing, picnicking or any other activities along the stretch of the rivers and streams. This order was issued in view of the onset of Monsoon season and with the probability of flash floods and rising water levels in the rivers and streams across Kiphire district. It further asked all village councils to prohibit the aforementioned activities till the end of this monsoon season. 

CNC Goodwill Prayer Fellowship on Aug 5

Dimapur, August 1 (MExN): The Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) has informed that a prayer fellowship with the Steering Committee will be held at Diphupar Ao Baptist Church, Diphupar A, Dimapur at 10:00 am on August 5. Rev Seksim Kasar, General Secretary, CNC stated in a press release that since July, CNC has launched Goodwill Prayer Fellowship with all the NSCN members.  All executive members and members of the Steering Committee have been requested to participate in the prayer fellowship. The council has also appealed to all the members of Naga Freedom Fighter’s Widows Welfare Federation (NFFWWF), National Socialist Women’s Organization of Nagalim (NSWON), Kilonser, Deputy Kilonser, Tatars, all the Central Secretariat staff and senior members of NSCN who were not able to attend the previous prayer meeting to attend at this coming prayer meeting. 

NNC GDRN (N/A) issue ‘caution notice’

Dimapur, August 1 (MExN): The NNC GDRN (Non-Accord) has issued ‘caution notice’ stating that some individuals namely Thongti Chang of Tuensang Village; Lemba Chang (alias Alem) of Pothambou village; and Ayen Chang of Sangtak village are tarnishing the good image of the government for their vested interest by demanding taxes in and around Tuensang. ‘This has come to the notice of the Collective Leadership of NNC GDRN (N/A),’ stated a press release issued by the MIP. It clarified to all the DHOD and other business community not to entertain the three individuals as they are neither, enrolled nor have they anything to do with the NNC, GDRN (N/A). Further, it warned the three individuals “not to cross the line” and, if any untoward incidents arise the government will not be held responsible what so ever.
