Tuensang DPDB meeting on Sept 10

TUENSANG, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): The Tuensang District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) monthly meeting for the month of September is scheduled to be held on September 10 at 11am in the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall, Tuensang. A circular issued by the DC informed all DPDB members to attend the meeting.

Activities permitted in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, September 6 (MExN): In pursuance of the order dated August 31 issued by the Government of Nagaland, the following activities are permitted in Mokokchung District outside the containment zones subject to strict compliance of the Standard Operating Procedures with immediate effect: shopping malls, restaurants, hotels and hospitality units, gymnasiums, barber shops, and salons, beauty parlours. Further all markets/business establishments are allowed to open on all days except Sundays. “Any person/group acting in violation of this order shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code,” the DC office stated in an order. 

ADC Kohima notifies on sealed areas

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa has notified that in view of the detection of a COVID-19 positive person, several locations have been sealed in order to contain the spread of the virus and for necessary contact tracing. The sealed areas include 3 houses at Officers Hill, 2 houses at Potterlane Colony, 1 house at Upper Chandmari Colony, 1 residence at Jotsoma Village, the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB) Guest House, Officer's Hill Colony, 1 house at New Market Colony, 1 house at Peraciezie Colony, and 1 residence near UPHC Seikhazou, Seikhazou Colony. The ADC ordered that all movement of persons/vehicles within the defined sealed area is strictly restricted/prohibited and under active surveillance with effect from the date of sealing (September 4).

CAWD holds coordination meeting

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): Kazheto Kinimi, MLA & Advisor for Civil Administrative Works Department (CAWD) attended a coordination meeting of the CAWD officers of all the districts in the conference Hall, Kohima. Advisor Kazheto Kinimi exhorted the gathering and assured to extend all support towards the activities of the department. He also encouraged all the officers to work with sincerity, dedication and tirelessly towards the implementation and execution of government works. The Executive Engineer, CAWD also deliberated upon the gathering on all the ongoing projects and proposed further action plan for the coming years.

CPO mourns

Kohima, September 6 (MExN): The Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) has mourned the sudden demise of Puyoyi Nyekha who breathed his last on September 4. “A man of strong integrity, a true patriot, a sincere and dedicated government servant who is also known by many for his soft and humble nature. His demise is not only a great lost for the community but also as our CPO executive member,” the CPO stated in condolence message. It also prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

Govt urged to punish those involved in spurious liquor plant

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): The Women Association of 7th Mile Model Village has urged the government to serve strict punishment against the persons involved in the illegal spurious liquor plant which was raided by the 5th Assam Rifles last week. A press release from the association’s President, Atula and Women Secretary, Aien Koza stated that it has been, along with the help of youth organizations, checking the sale of liquor within its jurisdiction for the past two years. While applauding the action taken by the Assam Rifles, it informed that the associations have shut down 5 whole sellers of alcohol “but was quite unaware of this bottling plant of liquor within its jurisdiction.” 

Several houses, shops unsealed in Tuensang

TUENSANG, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): On completion of fourteen days sealing period as well as completion of all contract tracing and testing, the Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant, has lifted the sealing of several premises in Tuensang beginning September 6. An order from the DC informed the unsealing of three houses in High School B (Middle Sector), a house in Laiket Lumpou Khel, a house at Tuensang Village, a house at NST Sector, a shop building at NST sector and a workshop at NST building. The DC stated that all normal functioning are allowed to resume as per various SOPs and medical advisories issued by the Government from time to time in relation to the COVID - 19 pandemic.
