‘Expedite Swachh Bharat Mission’

Kohima, September 10 (MExN): In view of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2 next year, the North East NAMASTE states Swachh Bharat Mission requested the district administrations to expedite Swacch Bharat mission in their respective districts in coordination with implementing departments, agencies and civil societies on October 2 this year. This was stated in a release issued by North East NAMASTE states Swachh Bharat Mission brand ambassador L.Shaupen Phom.

 

DGP Nagaland schedules public interview

Kohima, September 10 (MExN): The office of the Director General of Police, Nagaland, Kohima informed that public interview will be conducted only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The interview timing is scheduled from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on the stipulated days. Henceforth, no party/individual shall be entertained except on the stipulated mentioned days and time, a release received here stated.

 

Mengujuma Youth Organization bans hunting

Kohima, September 10 (MExN): The Mengujuma Youth Organization (MYO) has banned hunting, fishing and collection of forest products within its jurisdiction. A press release issued by MYO president Kelevizo Rurhie and general secretary Krovi Sechii warned that violators will be punished as per the resolution of the youth body.

 

MVC bans sale of wild animals

Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): Medziphema Village Council (MVC) has imposed ban on sale of wild/exotic animals within its jurisdiction and it informed that “anyone found shall be dealt strictly as per the existing law of land.” Medziphema Village Council Chairman and Secretary in a press release has reminded the public that ban on hunting, fishing and other similar activities are still enforced within its jurisdiction.

 

Raffle Draw postponed

Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): The Kashiram Youth Organisation (KYO) has informed that the Local Pork Raffle Draw scheduled on September 11 is postponed to September 15, Saturday at 7:00 am. KYO Secretary Bendangmenla Amlari in a press note has expressed regret for the inconvenience.

 

Lotha Hoho reaffirms disassociation from Naga Hoho

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 10 (MExN): The Lotha Hoho today reasserted that it has disassociated from the Naga Hoho since 2008, and stated that it would “not recognise any Lotha individual who may hold any official post or organisation or individual who may attend any programme/meeting of the Naga Hoho.” “Such an individual or organisation is deemed as self-styled and illegal and anti Lotha,” a press note from the Lotha Hoho Chairman, Mhao Humtsoe and General Secretary, Er Mhondamo Ovung stated. It further condemned the action of one Mhonchumo Mozhui, who it termed was a “self styled” Cultural and Customary Affairs of the Naga Hoho. The Lotha Hoho urged the individual to “immediately demit his post in Naga Hoho lest the Lotha Hoho take disciplinary action against him.” It meanwhile reminded that the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC), of which the LH is a constituent unit, had also dissociated from the Naga Hoho in 2016.
