ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) - Don Bosco, implementing SBI Foundation Gram Seva programme in Dimapur celebrated Earth Day by distributing varieties of  fruit tree and shady tree saplings to the 5 adopted villages- Khriezephe, Diezephe, Urra, Bade & Tsithrongse. The planting of the tree saplings was carried out by the remedial students, teachers & Gram Seva Committee members. AIDA and SBI Gram Seva planted 50-100 tree saplings in each of the adopted villages.

Chandu Kumar Agarwal, a businessman and noted social worker from an early settlers family of Dimapur was recently conferred with an honorary doctorate by Maryland State University, Kentlands, USA in the field of social work for his contribution towards the development of nation and society. The degree was conferred at the 14th National Summit & Felicitation 2023, held at Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi on April 16 from Dr Desziree Richardson, CEO, Face of Woha, UK & Virgina Rivera, President & Co-founder Mujer Emprende Latina, Senator, USA. 

Science Stream of Sao Chang College (SCC), Tuensang observed Earth Day 2023 on April 22. Importance of Earth Day was highlighted by SCC Principal, Dr Vitsosie Vupru. A total 20 of fruit saplings (Nectarine and Apple) were distributed to the 20 students of SCC on first come first served basis on April 21 which was later planted at their respective homes on April 23. 

Earth Day was organised by Student Christian Movement (SCM) Nagaland and Prodigals’ Home Dimapur under the theme ‘Invest in our Planet’ at Fellowship Colony, Dimapur on April 22. Vivika Sema, Assistant Conservator of Forest, Dimapur spoke on the theme while an act play was presented by Sakus Mission College.

Nagaland University (NU) observed Earth Day at NU Headquarter Lumami on April 22. Painting competition and plantation drive marked NU Earth Day observation. Painting competition was conducted on April 21 in Department of Geography conference hall on the theme ‘Invest in our Planet.’ On April 22, Earth Day programme was observed at Rajiv Gandhi Park NU Lumami with Prof Jagadish K Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor, NU as the Chief Patron who lated led a plantation drive. PRO i/c Ashish Kumar informed that the tree saplings were distributed to the various hostels under NU and participants for the plantation drive. Some tree saplings were provided to the NU for the plantation drive by Department of Forest , Mokokchung. 

B.Sc 4th semester, Department of Zoology, Patkai Christian College attended extensive training under the supervision of the Faculty of the department on April 21 and 22. The training was organised by the Nagaland Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM), Dimapur. NBHM team members and resource persons and the Bee-keepers taught on scientific method of construction and management of apiaries, which may incubate prospective entrepreneurship in them to generate employment in the state.

Murugan with Nagaland’s CAWD & taxes advisor Kudecho Khamo and others during a visit to Netaji’s Peak at Chesezu village under Phek district on April 22. The Department of History, Eastern Christian College (ECC), Dimapur organised field trip to Dzüleke on April 22. It was organised as part of exposure to link the outside experience with the classroom learning to give both the students and educators valued experience. Altogether 43 students and three faculties attended the field trip.

IGNITE ‘23 was held on at Yimkümmer House, Tuli under the theme ‘Jesus first’ with missionary Lima Imsong and Allen Imsong as resource speakers on April 19 and 20. Sunep Imchen was camp director while Tuli Town Baptist Church Youth Ministry led the praise and worship. A press release received here stated that IGNITE is a free annual youth spiritual and motivational program for Class 10, 11 and 12 final appeared students since 2012. It is organized and sponsored by Team Ignite, “a small group of dedicated missionaries and entrepreneurs with a heart for mission.” Altogether 101 participants along with associate pastors of youth Ministry from six churches of Tuli attended the programme.
