Directorate of Health and Family Welfare observed Advent Christmas on December 17 with Principal Director Dr Neikhrielie Khimiao speaking on ‘What Christmas Means to me.’ Officers of the Directorate H&FW and .Pelesa Keyho presented special numbers and Dr Visasieu Kire, Director (ME) chaired the programme.
The new patient attendant guest house in the campus was inaugurated on Friday by Khrienuo Moa, President of the Rev Moa Longchari Cancer Foundation (RMCF). This much needed facility was built with support received from the Foundation, the CIHSR informed in a press release. The guest house, which is the second one in the campus, has 5 furnished units available for the attendants of patients undergoing prolonged treatment in CIHSR, at very nominal rates. Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton met the Village Council Chairpersons, pastors, catechists from 22 villages of 37 Tyui Assembly Constituency on December 17 I Wokha and urged them to play active roles in maintaining peaceful atmosphere in the villages. The Mon District Planning and Development Board Mon held its monthly meeting on December 17.According to a DIPR report, the meeting which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Thavaseelan K, accepted and forwarded a proposal for the registration of Fienau Welfare Society at Chen Town. The department of Rural Development organised a Pre-Christmas celebration on December 17 at the RD Conference Hall, Kohima. The advent Christmas celebration was marked by offering for Orphanage Home, Lucky dip, sharing Christmas blessing, special number, scripture reading and Christmas feast.
The 3rd quarterly Zunheboto District Level Co-ordination Committee meeting was held at Deputy Commissioner's residence, Zunheboto on December 17. During the meeting, tobacco-free certificates were awarded by the DC to Natha Old and Lizu Naghuto village and tobacco-free school certificate was given to Sunbeam School.
