Village Health Nutrition Day (VNHD) was observed at Government Primary School, Ungma Old with Dr Moamongla as the Medical Officer at Ungma village, Mokokchung on October 14. Two ANM staffs, Anganwadi workers and Malaria surveillance were also present to assist the medical camp. As a part of the outreach activity, the health component was provided by Medical Department and the nutrition component was provided by Social Welfare Department. At the medical camp, health education and awareness talk were given by Dr Moamongla. Immunization for kids, free doctor consultation and free medical checkup with free medicines were given along with sweets to the students. During many of the VHND observations other activities like pregnant lady check up, community screening of elderly for htn n dmt2, malaria surveillance by taking blood slide, distribution of Oral Contraceptive Pill and condoms to eligible couples takes place.
