As part of Rotary International Dist-3240 Rtn Dr Mohan S Konwar, District Governor official visit to Rotary Club Kohima, the club visited Senior Citizen Home on October 29 where a brief programme was conducted led by President of Rotary Club Kohima, Rtn Kezhokhoto Savi. It was attended by rotarians of Rotary Club Kohima, DG, First Lady Asst DG. The DG Asst DG and charter president Rtn Dr Rosemary Dzüvichü addressed the occupants of the Home, consisting 20 women and three men. The Club donated several food items and toiletries.

An awareness programme for parents of People with Disabilities (PwDs) was held at Angel Home, Signal Angami on October 29. The programme was guided by Fatima Kera who spoke on types of disabilities and stressed on the importance of education. Kera emphasised on the importance of early intervention which will reduce the severity and also encouraged parents to allow their children to be part of all social gatherings. A video clip on how the children are accepted in inclusive schools and the role of Anganwadi workers was also shown. The programme concluded with the parents forming a group, a press release informed.

A session on stress management was organized for the faculty and students of Model Christian College, Kohima on October 29. Dr Temsulong Pongener, Psychiatrist of State Mental Health Institute, Aradura, Kohima was the resource person. Earlier, the session commenced with a prayer by SP Francis, Managing Director, MCC while Dr Luke Rymbai, Principal, MCC chaired the session.

The new office building of the Deputy Superintendent of Excise, Longleng was inaugurated on October 26 by S Chanlei Angh, Deputy Commissioner of Excise, Narcotic Cell, Nagaland, in the presence of the Longleng District Administration, Bhumnyu Village Council, Oushok Baptist Church and various officials of the department. Giving a brief account on the construction of the new office building, the Deputy Commissioner of Excise sought the cooperation of the various law enforcement agencies and the civil societies, and implored upon the department officials for greater dedication to duty. Dr Neisakho Kire, SPO (NVBDCP) addressing the District Review Meeting on Malaria at CMO office Zunheboto on October 29. Dr Kire encouraged the participants to take special initiative in the drive to eliminate malaria and declare Zunheboto as malaria free district. While the district has not recorded any case for the past 2 years, he urged the staff to be prepared and track the history of imported and indigenous cases. He also called for improvement in slide collection performance and periodical mass slide collections. District Agriculture Office, Kohima conducted a rabi seeds distribution program under National Food Security Mission at the office premises with Chairman, Nagaland Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Government of Nagaland, Dr Kekhrie Yhome as the special guest on October 27. DAO, Neikhotuonuo in her introductory address dwelled on the National Food Security Mission initiated by the Government of India and encouraged farmers to work hand in hand with the department for achieving economic stability and food security.
