The 4th Wokha Trade Expo organized by Wokha Village Youth Organisation in collaboration with Netex Society commenced at Wokha public ground from November 3. Handicrafts, kitchen utensils, agriculture tools and various products are put up for the sale. Renpithung Kikon, President, Wokha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WDCCI) grace the inauguration programme as the special guest. Lotha Hoho executive members, Lotha Students’ Union, Wokha Circle Students’ Union and Wokha Village Students’ Union were present during the inaugural.

The Department of Zoology, St Joseph University (SJU) organized two-day extension activity field trip to Government Primary school, Virazouma village in Chümoukedima. Minoli Yeptho gave a talk on ‘awareness on COVID’ while Kilikali Yepthomi spoke on ‘awareness on environment.’ Games and sports and plantation drive were also conducted during the study trip which was led by HoD Dr R Nandakumar, Pelesino Meyase, and Magdalene Kiewhuo. Royal Club Kohima (RCK) observed its 34th raising day at Jakhama on November 1. Retired DGP Nagaland & former RCK president, K Kire exhorted the gathering on the club’s motto “Service to all”. Being one of the oldest clubs in the capital, RCK has been participating in philanthropist activities assigned by the state government, he said. Delivering the presidential address, Ken Keditsu interschool football tournament in 2019, contribution to CM Relief Fund, highlighted the activities of the club since 2019-2021. Khrietseituo Tungoe and Viechühu Liezietsu presented the general secretary and treasurer’s reports respectively. The raising day was also marked with members participating in games and entertainment.

Lions Deepawali celebration was held under the chairman ship of Lion Sandeep Bakliwal and Co-chairman Lion Basu Damani and Manish Poddar with fun fare at Lions Centre on October 31. The celebration is an annual activity and the only fund raising project of the club. The funds are used to conduct medical camp, eye screening camp, education help, lions health centre (Immunization for the children) etc. The result of peace poster contest held on October 2 was also declared. Training on ‘nutritional-growth monitoring' was held at District Hospital, Mon on November 3. The resource person, Dr Penjei, MO Shangnyu PHC gave detail presentation on the overview of the training and spoke about the definition of the purpose, aims, importance of growth monitoring, assessment of physical growth, growth chart, schedule, role of AWW and nutritional programme in India. Meanwhile, the district review meeting was conducted on the same day where the Block Programme Managers presented their 2nd quarter service delivery data. Each block laid down the monthly performance of their respective health unit on ANC, deliveries, OPD/IPD and immunization. It was attended by Deputy CMO, Senior Medical Officers, Medical Officers, District Programme Manager, Block Programme Managers, District Community Mobilizer and ASHA Co-ordinators.
