Nagaland: Peletkie Students' Union conduct social services

Peren, August 16 (MExN): Peletkie Students' Union (PSU) conducted social services in various parts of Peren district on August 11 under the theme ‘Social service is service to oneself.’ It was organized as part of the union’s Golden Jubilee celebration year. The jubilee is scheduled for December 2018.  

A press release from PSU president, Bamsina Chamlak and social & cultural secretary, Kenrakpe stated that PSU as per its resolution passed during the last meeting conducted social services in different circles and locations such as Peletkie village, Peren Town, Jalukie Town and Deukwaram village. Apart from students, elders, parents and citizens of Peletkie actively took part in the union’s activities in various locations, it said.  

The release informed that PSU carried out social work at Peren Town local football ground as assigned by the district administration.  

Meanwhile, PSU Jalukie circle cleaned up the compound and surroundings of the Community Health Centre (CHC), Jalukie Town. The work began and ended with prayers by elder, Inswabe and first PSU president, Pauhia Kenn respectively. Words of encouragement and gratitude were delivered by SMO, CHC Jalukie and PSU finance secretary, Kirangbe Kenn.  

PSU Peletkie circle and Deukwaram circle also carried out social service by cleaning up the entire village areas and streets, the release added.
