Nagaland shines at Wiz National Spell bee competition

Dimapur, January 5 (MExN): The Wiz National Spell Bee Nagaland participated in the 8th Mega Grand Finale of the Wiz National Spell Bee competition which was held in Kolkata at South City International School on December 26 and 27, 2017.  

Altogether, 964 students battled it out in the final competition. Three students from Nagaland came inside top twenty, Linovini Zhimomi of St. Paul Higher Secondary School Dimapur (Category 6) was ranked 8th for which she won cash prize along with the trophy and certificate. Nzani M Lapon of Holy Child School Dimapur (Category 6) was ranked 12th and Saanvi Jain of Hope Academy Dimapur (Category 1) was ranked 20th.  

Moreover, five students were ranked inside top 30, 14 students inside top 40, 27 students inside top 50, 26 students inside top 60 and 3 students inside top 70.  

“This was the second time that students from Nagaland took part, and the team Wiz Spell Bee Nagaland is proud that this year we witnessed increase in the number of participants as well as better results than the last outing. Compared to last year’s seven participants in the finale, this year there were 78 students from Nagaland, who showed tremendous enthusiasm to participate,” informed a press release issued by Wiz National Spell Bee Nagaland.
