Nagaland: St Christopher School Chessore sports meet begins

DIMAPUR, MARCH 22 (MExN): The annual sports meet at St. Christopher School Chessore, Tuensang district was inaugurated by L Samuel, NCS, SDO (C), Chessore HQ on March 22.


The inaugural programme began with the invocation prayer led by Toki Allen, Pastor, Chessore Village Baptist Church. The Chief Guest, L. Samuel, NCS then hoisted the flag. It was followed by the school anthem. The lighting of the olympic lamp was performed by Nokrunba, Head Gaonburah, Chessore Village. Rev. Fr. Loyola Antony, the Principal welcomed the gathering.


Addressing at the inaugural function the Chief Guest said that he was happy and delighted to be at this occasion. He also commented that sports are irreplaceably related to learning process, to our body, exercise and leads us to profession too. He also appreciated the talents of the children, particularly the pyramid formation and extended his open invitation to perform in the Independence Day celebration at the Public ground this year. He further stated that the students of St. Christopher School are fortunate to have this opportunity, even though the village is situated in the remote area of Tuensang district. He also gave a word of advice to the parents and reminded them that their children are their assets and future.


Some of the events of the inaugural function included the athletic pledge, the March past, drill display, and pyramid formation. The inaugural session was chaired by Noktsula, Asst. Teacher and the vote of thanks was proposed by Donan Victor, the Headmaster.
