Kohima | November 21 

The inter-club T20 Tournament cum Coaching Camp for Sub Junior Boys and Girls commenced today at Jakhama Village Ground and Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) Ground, Sovima. 

Organized by the Kohima District Cricket Association (KDCA) under the aegis of the NCA, the event is being held from November 21-27. During the inaugural programme at Jakhama, NCA Tournament Committee Members Ahidur Rahman and Philip Lahm and members representing the Nagaland Cricket Association as special guests, declared the tournament open with the customary bat and balls. They lauded the well-organized tournament by the recently inducted KDCA team.

KDCA President, Mengu Sakhrie in his Presidential Address highlighted various activities of the Association including coaching camp and district trials. He shared that the Inter Club T20 Tournament was one of the many events planned in the Calendar Year for Kohima District. He further said that the association will be organizing an Inter School and Inter College Cricket Tournament next year. 

Earlier, inaugural programme was chaired by Keneizelhou Sekhose, General Secretary, KDCA. Prayer and short speech was delivered by Cassius Solo, Assistant Pastor, Baptist Revival Church and Convenor of KDCA Advisory Committee. 

On the first match that opened the tournament with Missionshire Cricket Club vs Kohima Hornbills, Missionshire CC won the toss and elected to bowl.

Missionshire CC scored 161/6 in 20 overs. Kevilelie Khesoh scored 51 runs, Manju who scored 36 runs. 

Chasing the target, Kohima Hornbills could manage only 132/8 in 20 overs. Zubir scored 73 for the team.

Missionshire CC won the match by 29 runs and Kevilelie Khesoh scoring 51 runs was declared the Man of the match. 

In the 2nd match between Lhisemia Thinuo vs Brotherhood Team, Lhisemia Thinuo won the toss and elected to bowl.
Brotherhood Team scored 168/9 in 20 overs. Teiso scored 32 runs, Keviselhou Sekhose scored 30 runs and Mengu Sachü scored 22 runs. 

In a nail-biting finish which went down to the last ball of the match, Lhisemia Thinuo scored 165/7 in 20 overs and fell short of the target by only 3 runs. Nouneyie scored 43 runs and Khriesamhalie scored 41 runs.


Brotherhood Team won the match by 3 runs and Teiso for his 32 runs and 2 wickets was declared the Man of the match. 
Honorary Secretary of Nagaland Cricket Association, Hyunilo Khing also attended the 2nd match of the day and gave away the Man of the Match trophies.

In the 2nd day, the 1st match will be played between Tsütuoniomia Knights and Pfüchatsumia Eagles and 2nd match between Dapfütsumia CC and Elite CC. The final match will be played on November 27 at NCA ground Sovima. 

The Coaching Camp for Sub Junior Boys and Girls is being held from November 21-23 with 7 players, 4 girls and 3 boys. The coaching camp is being conducted by NCA Certified Coaches. The coaching camp will continue till November 23.
