Nagaland U-16 men’s team announced for Vijay Merchant Trophy pre quarter final

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 21 (MExN): The Nagaland Cricket Association has declared the Boys U-16 Cricket Team list for the Vijay Merchant Trophy Pre-Quarter Final Match. 


A press release from the NCA informed that the Nagaland U-16 Boys team will play against Baroda at Amtar, Himachal Pradesh. The Nagaland U-16 qualified from the NE Zone for the third consecutive year.


The team members include Yugandhar Singh (captain), Keduowhetuo, Sujal Prasad, Khrievitso Kense, Lal Kishan Thakur, Md. Shahin Uddin, Purtongzuk Longkumer, Savlin Kumar Mallick, Sosangmar Imsong, Mhachen R Kithan, Huto T Achumi and Neizekho Rupreo. Guest players include Sravan Naga Konidena, Sarthak Yadav and Rohan Parchanda. The team will be led by Coach Arzoo Raj, Assistant Coach Kapil Thakur, Manager Neiketou Rupreo and Physio Inato Achumi.

 

Cooch Behar Trophy


The Nagaland U-19 team began their test match against Mizoram at the Cooch Behar Trophy at Kharagpur today. 


Batting first, Mizoram were bowled out for 179 runs in 64.5 overs. Ram Jangir, Arjun and Ranjen from Nagaland bagged a couple of wickets each for Nagaland. 


By stumps of the first day, Nagaland had scored 64 runs in 25 overs while losing 2 wickets. 

 

Women’s U-23 T20: Baroda beat Nagaland 


Meanwhile Baroda beat the Nagaland women’s U-23 team by 9 wickets in the T-20 Trophy. 


Nagaland won the toss and elected to bat first, managing to score only 51 runs in 20 overs while losing 8 wickets. Trishna with 12 runs and Sentilemla with 11 runs were the top scorers for the Nagaland team. 


Baroda managed to achieve the target losing only 1 wicket in 9.4 overs. Yastika with 24 runs and Jenita with 20 runs were their top scorers. 


Merensola from Nagaland was their sole wicket taker.
