Nagaland U-19 women defeat Arunachal

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 10 (MExN): Nagaland under-19 women’s cricket team emerged victorious in its first outing in the Womens Cricket Under 19 One Day League and Knockout (2018-19) against Arunachal Pradesh on February 10. Nagaland won by 10 runs at the Tanush Academy Ground, Dehradun (Uttarakhand), stated a Nagaland Cricket Association release.


Captain Sentilemla elected to bat putting onboard a decent 145 runs before getting all-out in 48.2 overs. Sentilemla top-scored 24 followed by Antima 23 and Reety 11.


Rishika Kumari and Shivangi Tyagi were the pick of the Arunachal attack claiming 3 wickets apiece.


Despite making a decent start, Arunachal’s middle order floundered. The run chase saw four batswomen out for ducks and the tailender left scoreless as the last wicket fell on the second ball of the 49th over. Tyagi topscored with 24 and Renu 19.


Nagaland bowlers Gunjan, Sapna and Sariba took 4, 2 and 2, respectively.
