Nagaland Zoological Park rescues wild leopard from Wameken valley

DIMAPUR, MARCH 10 (MExN): The Nagaland Zoological Park rescue team rescued a Wild Leopard (Wild Cat) from Wameken Valley near Tuli Town in Mokokchung district of Nagaland on March 9.  

The rescue team was led by Thripong Sangtam, Deputy Ranger along with the help of Zoo Veterinarian Dr. Rongsenwati Ao, and the support staff of zoo keepers from NZP.  

The rescued Leopard is a healthy adult male and presently kept in the confinement facility of the zoo. The zoo director, Obed Bohovi Swu SFS, in a press release conveyed its gratitude to Subonenba Longkumer, Director CECS, Rajeshwari Karuna (RK) of Tuli, J. Konyak, the Officer-in-Charge of Tuli PS and all the person involved in the "safe and timely conduct of this rescue mission."  

The wild leopard has been brought to the Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP), Rangapahar where it will be rehabilitated.
