Nagaland’s 1st online trade license application system launched

Minister of Urban Development Department, Municipal Affairs & Taxes Metsubo Jamir today launched online trade license application cum issuance system under e-municipality as a service (AMRUT) in Kohima Municipal Council.  

The programme is a joint initiative by NIC, KMC & UDD, GoN for EMAAS reforms under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).  

Jamir said this online system has been launched in Nagaland for the first time in KMC and subsequently it will also be launched in Dimapur and Mokokchung.  

Jamir was optimistic that with the launching of the online services the KMC will be able to give best services to the people more easier and transparency.  

He hoped that the peoples will immensely benefit from this service with ease and save time.  

Representative from NIC in their power presentation pointed out that in the first phase of implementation the consumer will submit their application to the administrator.  

The administrator will verify the application and after verification the license fee will be calculated and then assign license number and finally it will deliver the trade license to the consumers.  

The SMS notification is designed to keep updating the process of the application.  

In the form of 2nd phase implementation, the future enhancements will be e-mail notification, online application submission by license holders and payment gateway integration for online payment.  

With Digital India gaining momentum, Government is placing a lot of emphasis on improving Governments interface with citizens and businesses.  

In view of this, there has been a surge in the demand for end-to-end workflow based lCT solutions for delivering services to citizens and businesses, NIC representative stated.  

Rural development advisor Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire and Kohima deputy commissioner Rajesh Soundararajan also present at the launching programme.
