Nagas in Myanmar attend 96th Myanmar National Day

Yangon, November 25 (MExN): On invitation from the government of Yangon Region, Nagas in Myanmar attended the 96th Myanmar National Day at People’s Park in Yangon.  

U Tin Oo, patron and founder of National League for Democracy, U Phyo Min Thein, Chief Minister of Yangon Region, House Speakers of the Houses, Union Ministers and Min Ko Naing of 88 Generation and Athong Makury, President of Council of Naga Affairs attended the event.  

The state dignitaries were presented with Naga traditional headgears, waistcoats and traditional ornaments. “Nagas feel a deep sense of gratitude to the government of Yangon Region for providing such a space on this auspicious day during which Naga people are privileged to show the cordial nature of Naga culture to our neighbors and friends,’ stated a press release from the Naga in Myanmar.  

Wang Yu, Managing Director of Shwe Naung Yan Co., Ltd. was also requested to arrange Naga cuisine for the event which is a great opportunity for Naga people. Naga traditional foods were prepared with the help of Naga Yoya (Central) it’s the great honour of U Wang Yu, MD of SNY CO. Ltd and Café Relax Restaurant.  

Most of the audience was interested in Naga traditional rice beer (Zutho) and traditional ornaments on the occasion and the most crowded booths at the event.
