NAGC celebrates Advent Christmas & annual friendship fellowship

Kohima, November 3 (MExN): The Nagaland Adolescent Girls’ Club (NAGC) under the Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB), Kohima held the combined Advent Christmas programme and annual friendship fellowship at Thinovicha Memorial Government Higher Secondary School (TMHSS) with the theme ‘Christ is the Reason for the Season’. Altogether eight schools from Kohima where NAGC functions attended the programme along with the teacher-in-charge.

 A press note received here said that Rev. Shan Kikon, Senior Pastor, Faith Harvest Church, Kohima delivered the message emphasizing that this is the season to focus on Christ despite all the political and social disruptions and upheavals going on around us. Kenei Mezhür, Programme Manager (ML), NSSWB and NAGC, TMHSS, Kohima enthralled the gathering with special numbers.  

Daisy Mezhiir, Secretary, NSSWB & Mission Director, SRCW shared her journey with NAGC which began in 2008 and now has a total strength of nine schools in Kohima alone. Its purpose is to attend to a girl’s needs holistically and thus is filled with activities such as Good Samaritan, silent fairy, skill development and friendship fellowship which began in 2015 to empower the girls spiritually too.  

Shelina of Mewi School, Kohima shared her experience of being an NAGC member. A brief report on the friendship fellowship was delivered by Vikono Kweho, VAB Counselor and Smt. Juliana Medom, Asst. State Coordinator, SRCW expounded on the Girls being the Little Champs of Education, BBBP. Gugu led the worship along with few of the NAGC girls. Chairperson of the program was Meneno V., Research Officer, SRCW and vote of thanks was proposed by Medochünuo Chielie, NAGC, Coordinator.  

The cake cutting ceremony was done by Rev. Shan Kikon, Daisy Mezhiir, AvinoTase, Principal, TM GHSS and Anei-ü Liezietsu.
