Naginimora: Public protests against deplorable road

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 20 (MExN): The public of Naginimora Town under Mon district took to the streets today to protest the deplorable road condition of the town.  

A press note from the Konyak Union, Naginimora unit informed that the protest, led by the Konyak Union (KU), Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK), Naginimora Konyak Students Union (NKSU) of Naginimora unit, began at 10:00am.  

The protesters undertook a silent march through the 3 kilometer stretch of road that goes through the town and ended with the reading of a memorandum addressed to the Minister of Roads & Bridges, Nagaland.

The memorandum stated that the road has been neglected by the government for more than 20 years due to which the Konyak Union has been forced to carry out its maintenance despite limited resources. It also stated that the road condition was a huge problem for the public in general and the students in particular and asked the government to address this concern.
