National workers: an asset of peoples’ nationalism

What could have been our current state of affairs if our nationalist pioneers would have achieved our independence or self determination status; or imagine if our Nagaland state wouldn’t have fallen prey to individual or section ambitions and to be more realistic, even though miniscule forms of corruption persisted in controlled environments or precariously defective within exposition, we would have been able to keep pace with our neighboring states like Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh – they have surged to moderately developing index. Of course these are past chronicles and our national workers had little choice when the political atmosphere of the world had just been bombarded by two world wars and confusion ran amuck among the world leaders having been introduced to a new era of order dominated by technological, industrial and ideological wave. The only question is can we persevere the quest for conclusive settlement in present times where the denominators of democracies and people’s rights embrace leaning on aiding fellow worldly community which has been perpetuated after the 2nd world war on the grounds of common rights when sought.

But it is reassuring that the legacy of our political pioneers vibrates among all Nagas under the current escalations – young and old, male and female, wealthy and middle class [poor is the new middle class], different and generally able, working and idle class, students and educators, urban and rural folks etc. for sustaining a systematic and practical political mechanism. During the initial stages after India declared her first major scale of operational deployment in 1954, our national workers sustained and managed to hold their grounds and post from rations people could contribute like food grains, domesticated livestock, vegetation goods, voluntary and mandatory participation in infantry etc. The people felt not just obligated but also patriotic by cooperating with our national workers. The sequence of events developed has been narrated both in document and through verbal consignment since.

As of the contemporary times, the national workers and particularly the Naga army has been dubbed as terrorists through certain directory of observation. For the Nagas though, the Naga army (every faction) would always remain as national heroes and their sacrifice in isolating from general commute to fill in the void of participatory patriotism will be acknowledge always, for now and following. The Naga army is not an organized military maintained by dignitaries of stature in the respective factions; the Naga army is peoples’ army since the very purpose of emergence of national workers conveys resolve to people’s aspiration. They are to exfoliate their duties and purpose for the aspiration the people connotes having establishing political diplomacies attuned to entities of inherent national identities not necessarily conventional, and political prospects that resonates to common welfare and exploration of civilization tendencies. Hence considering the contemporary developments and surging of people’s assertion on collective comprehensive tackling of political enigma between the Indians and the Nagas, the center should relax military aggression on the Naga army and adapt to interception of cadres stemming from mutual derivation of political exchanges and potential pragmatic endeavors.

The state of Nagaland hasn’t emerged the way it was expected to deliver during the most crucial hours of suppression and inflammation of diplomatic failure and blood bath between the Indians and the Nagas. Nor can any sensible intelligentsia community advocate or admit that the Nagas can persevere to endure the perpetual bleakness and obsoleteness of political, social and economic growth within the degenerate state of affairs when naturally there are channels to solve disparities depending on how issues develop and limited only for sensible exploration. The contemporary times has allocated itself to both Indians and Nagas to attain a sensible peaceful diplomacy and the center should also meet the people halfway in the conglomeration of adequate representatives with validity surmised in the methods, while the Naga army maintaining their post not preemptive by strategy but in consonance regarding the emissaries establish through the discourse and within hierarchy should vigil deviation of people’s common interest. The center should excuse internal conflicts to be sorted out within as the aspiration afforded to substandard departure has many demerits in implication. To subscribe another allotment that could inadvertently carve the stone for dreary trajectory shouldn’t be entertained. The center can contribute by facilitating the people’s representative; a minute task for the bigger picture; this way the possibilities can actually be enacted.

The people today owe the political tribulation of exploration to our foremost and prominent, late and active reverent explorers who with their vision has kindled, animated, qualified and revolutionized our thinking for better common future.
