‘Natural language processing’ workshop underway

Kohima, October 21 (MExN): The Department of Tenyidie in collaboration with the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Linguistic Data Consortium of Indian Languages (LDC-IL), Mysore, organizes a seven days workshop on ‘natural language processing’, at Nagaland University, Kohima Campus: Meriema.  

A press release on the event stated that the seven days programme begins today with Commissioner and Secretary, Department of Information & Technology, Government of Nagaland, Khriesalie Vizo, as the Chief Guest. Vizo deliberate on the conceptualization of men and women in the field of Language and scientific approach to language. He urged the women to be far better than men, in natural language processing, as women have greater potentials. He also announced that Nagaland state was the first to own a State Data Centre in the country.  

In the Inaugural session, Dr. Mimi Ezung, Coordinator (NU) chaired the programme, Prof. GT Thong, Academic & Administrative In charge delivered the welcome address while the keynote was presented by the coordinator (LDC-IL), Amom Nandaraj Meetei. MA (3rd Semester) Students, Tenyidie Department enthralled the session with a special number and Assistant Professor Metuo Liezietsu, pronounced the vote of thanks. The national level workshop will be held till October 28, 2016.
