Natural resources conservation training underway

Dimapur, February 17 (MExN): Training on “Roles of ATMA in natural resources conservation for sustainable livelihood and healthy environment” got underway on February 17 at the Directorate of Soil & Water Conservation, Kohima. The training was inaugurated by director of Soil & Water Conservation Department, R.T.Asang Jamir. H stressed on the needs and importance of natural resources conservation for sustainable livelihood and healthy environment and exhorted the participating officers to accomplish the task at hand with full sincerity.
On day one, topics covered were - "Roles and Responsibilities of ATMA in the Light of the Revised Extension Guidelines by Dr. Amenla from the State Nodal Office ATMA and Climate Change Its Impacts and Conservation Forestry by Dr. Keyiekhrie Kire, Conservator of Forest". The training is being sponsored by ATMA and organized by the Department of Soil & Water Conservation, Nagaland. Officers from the  Department of Soil & Water Conservation who are actively involved in the implementation of RKVY are taking part in the training programme.
