NCC Air Wing cadets undergo flying training

Team to represent NE at All India Vayu Sainik Camp  

Dimapur, October 9 (MExN): The 75 NCC Air Wing cadets from Nagaland and other North Eastern States for the first time flew Zen Air CH 701 aircraft in Dimapur. The aircraft has been particularly flown in for them from Aizawl for flying training.   The flying training turned into actual flying under supervision of training staff posted under North Eastern Region NCC Directorate Shillong and it coincided with the 84th anniversary of Indian Air Force, stated a press release received here.   The Additional Director General, NCC, North Eastern Region took special interest in overcoming administrative and technical hurdles making the dream of NCC cadets come true, it added.  

NCC Air Wing cadets in Dimapur are undergoing flying training since October 3 to participate in the prestigious All India Vayu Sainik Camp scheduled to be held in Jodhpur, Rajasthan from October 16, where selected 40 cadets will represent the North Eastern Region. All Air Wing NCC units of North Eastern Region are actively participating in the training, according to the release.  

The present flying training is a precursor to the training which the cadets will undergo subsequently when two newly acquired GARUD Microlite aircraft  join the 1 Nagaland Air Squadron NCC next year. The 1 Nagaland Air Squadron NCC under NCC Group Headquarters Kohima shall be the pioneers to operate the newly acquired Slovekian made Garud aircraft in the entire North East.
