NCD against moving DC’s office to Chümoukedima

DIAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 11 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) in an executive meeting held today re-affirmed its stand against the shifting of the Deputy Commissioner’s office from Dimapur to Chümoukedima. “The present DC office is strategically located which is felt convenient by all the general public. The move to shift the public office will cause various negative impacts to the lives of citizens of Dimapur,” a press release from the NCD President, T Bangerloba said. “The NCD is also not in favour of the new nomenclature being used which is read as DC Chümoukedima Camp Dimapur erstwhile DC office Dimapur,” the NCD stated. It meanwhile expressed shock at reports that a contractor has locked the PWD building due to non-clearance of pending bill by the government and there are indications that the PWD land and building will be auctioned off. The NCD urged that the department clear the pending bills, secure the department property, and cancel all illegal encroachers' patta.
