NCSU gives awards to best traffic personnel

Khrievotuo-ü Zumvü and Vikholie-o Kense win Best Traffic Award 2017  

Kohima, December 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) headquarter Kohima has for the fourth year acknowledged the service of Traffic Police personnel in manning the massive traffic in the State capital.  

Two best traffic personnel were given awards during the NCSU advance Christmas cum felicitation programme at Hotel Ura, Kohima on December 15.  

This year, the Best Traffic Award 2017 went to Nk. Khrievotuo-ü Zumvü of 15 NAP (IR) Mahila Battalion in the female category and Traffic Constable Vikholie-o Kense in the male category.  

NCSU president Pele Khezhie handed over the award consisting of a citation and Rs 10,000 to each of the winners. Meanwhile, NCSU secretary Hoshito Assumi stated that the award is given for the traffic personnel’s tireless service to the people of the state.  

Senior Pastor of Cross Wonder Church Kohima Rev Ketou Theünuo, who was the main speaker of the event, called upon contractors to be committed and sincere builders. He encouraged the contractors and traffic police personnel to be givers and also execute their responsibilities with a smile on the face thereby sharing the joy of the birth of Jesus Christ, a press release informed.  

Senior Superintendent of Police, Kohima, Vekhosa Chakhesang extending greetings lauded NCSU for felicitating the traffic police every year and encouraging them to fulfil their responsibility more sincerely. He was also appreciative of the contractors for their services and expressed hope that the union will work continuously for the welfare of the people, the release from NCSU general secretary John Kath added.  

Chaired by NCSU Advisor, Povotso Lohe, the programme began with invocation by Pastor Chekrosayi Phesao, Merhülietsa CRC Kohima. NCSU vice-president Ntsenthung Tungoe delivered the welcome address and Keziah Semy presented a special song.
