NDMSA holds first Biennial Conference

Kohima, November 23 (MExN): The Nagaland Directorate Ministerial Service Association (NDMSA) held its 1st Biennial Conference at Molu Ki Merhülietsa, Kohima on November 22 where Pankaj Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary, Nagaland graced the occasion as the chief guest.

“Since the inception of the Association way back in 1975 the Association members have not had any mega event of this sort and this is the first time such Conference has taken place,” stated a press note received here.

Speaking on the occasion in the first session, the Chief Secretary told the gathering that it was a privilege as well a good time to interact with all the differe

nt Departments’ Directorate staff on the occasion since it was difficult for him to do so on an individual department level.   He likened the Secretariat as the head where most of the thinking is done and the Directorate and the Districts as the arms and legs where most of the things are implemented and executed.

He said that the Directorate forms the bridge between the Secretariat and the District and is an important factor in the Govt. system. Citing an instance from his experience, he encouraged the Association members to maintain a check-list system while discharging duties in order to keep track of the things they are doing.

He also lamented that an adequate refreshers course and in-service training are imparted to the ministerial cadres and said that Government will look into possibilities to include programmes for the Directorates staff while planning such policies. He also assured the members present of all support in future pertaining to issues of the Association.

In the second part of the program, a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2017-19 were inducted with M. Renthungo Tungoe as the president and Longngam Konyak as the General Secretary among others.
