Naga People’s Front (NPF), President Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu today said the NDPP-BJP alliance is on a shaky platform and may “collapse any time.”
The do not have the magic figure; they are ruling the state with the help of one JD(U), one independent and two NPP candidates, he said.

Speaking at the Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting of the NPF here, the party president also claimed that the NDPP had stolen their motto ‘Facto non Verba’ from St Edmunds College, Shillong. “Looking back from a literary perspective, if they have not taken permission for its use, their motto is to be treated as stolen goods,” he said.

Meanwhile, he assured that the NPF as opposition is contributing “their best not only as a watch dog but also in a very constructive manner.”
Liezietsu said that the NPF as a party remains strong, adding that more leaders from other parties have joined NPF from time to time even when they are in the opposition.

Dr Liezietsu said one of such important event was the merger of AAP into NPF under the leadership of Dr S Among Lkr with 364 active members in November 2018; and Dr RS Naresh Ram, former BJP leader from Delhi who expressed desire to serve NPF in any capacity. He added that a regional political party from Bihar and another from Jharkhand also came to Kohima and requested the party to admit them into the party.

In Nagaland, he said NPF is the only regional political party which survives against all odds for the last 56 years.

“We do not believe in arms struggle and, therefore our leaders had adopted our motto ‘fide non armis’ meaning ‘by faith, not arms.’ We advocate non violent policy but at the same time we will not allow any power to suppress our democratic and religious rights. This party is, therefore, taking a stand to defend these fundamental rights of the people of Nagaland. We fully support the democratic and secularism policy of this great nation,” Liezietsu said.

Dr. Liezietsu added that NPF is the only regional political party which represents the identity of the Naga people, stating that the party would continue to serve and protect the interest of the Naga people till such time an amicable and honorable solution comes. He meanwhile urged party leaders to stand firm on the principles of the party and be prepared to take over the government “at the first opportunity which may not be very far off.”

Earlier, the NPF President released the NPF Constitution (9th Amendment 2019) and NPF monthly news bulletin.
