NDPP-BJP alliance will come to power: Rio

Kohima, February 22 (MExN): Chief Ministerial candidate of the NDPP- BJP alliance Neiphiu Rio remains confident of forming the next government.

“As Nagaland goes to poll on Feb. 27, we are pretty confident that our alliance will be voted to power to form the next ministry of the 13th NLA,” Rio said while addressing election campaign programme of NDPP candidate Er. Kevisekho Kruse from 8th Western Angami A/C at Sechu Zubza on February 20 last.

Rio also took time to assure people that the NDPP-BJP alliance would not pose a threat to Christians. NDPP elected legislators, he insisted, will not compromise on any issue concerning the Christian faith.

“We are happy that the church leaders have come up with their concerns; however, there is nothing to worry about. Our rights to freedom of religion have been enshrined in Constitution of India, and we as leaders will defend the Christian faith to the fullest,” he maintained.

In his speech, Er. Kruse viewed that Naga people at present have no leader to guide from the forefront, except Rio.

Nagas, Er. Kruse stated, need a good and stable chief minister at the moment, unlike the previous four years of unstable leadership in the state. Rio will take the Nagas to greater heights by forming a stable government, he added.

Others who spoke at the rally included former MLA Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu, NDPP Nagaland vice president Menuovilie Kesiezie and NDPP Kohima region president Avio Tetso.
