NDPP welcomes ECI’s decision

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has welcomed the decision by the Election Commission of India (ECI) dismissing the petition under section 29A of the Representation of Peoples Act, 1951, seeking cancellation of the NDPP.

A press release from the NDPP Media & Communication Committee termed the judgment “unbiased and fair after thorough study of the documents and after having given patient hearings to both parties.”

“Ever since the filing of the complaint on May 7, 2018, the NDPP had placed its unwavering belief on the legal system of the country and never once doubted that true justice will be delivered by the ECI. This order of the ECI only further strengthens our faith on the judiciary system of India and the inviolability of the ECI,” it stated.

Stating that the NDPP is a “people’s centric party, committed on tirelessly working for the welfare of the state and its people,” it maintained that the party “never has and never will mislead the people with rhetoric’s and false claims.”

Reiterating their commitment to work for the “development and upliftment of the State and its citizens,” the NDPP noted, “The party will not be distracted by rumours and false accusations, but will be steadfast towards building a new Nagaland, hand in hand with the people under the banner of transparency, accountability and good governance.”
