NDPP’s comfort zone of being in govt chair ‘may be short lived’

Kohima, November 20 (MExN): While the NDPP may be “bold” in speaking at present, the NPF today declared that “their comfort zone of sitting in the Government chair may be short lived.”

In a comeback, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) Press Bureau, in a rejoinder prodded the ruling NDPP if it expected the NPF “to stay mute spectator to the misdeeds of the Government.”

It said that the opposition party always expected the ruling government “a logistic approach of the loopholes that was pointed out” and “work for the welfare of the people while they are at the helms of affair.”

The NPF regretted that instead of clarifying on the pertinent issues raised by the opposition concerning the development of the state as well as the state exchequer, the NDPP “wanted to revisit the omen work and horror movie alike created by their leader out of frustration.”

“Instead of working out for their rudderless and paralyzed Government, the NDPP is sheltering their mouth by diverting to the pertinent issues of the state.”

The opposition meanwhile agreed upon the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) pointing out that the NPF led DAN-III Government had faced “a tumultuous and war-like situation in the state. But the NPF party has no regret because despite all these challenging situations and political crisis in the party, the highest infrastructural developments had taken place in the State which is visible on the ground,” it claimed.

Despite the challenging situations and political crisis “created by their master, the NPF party is for the Naga people and will be for the Naga people,” it affirmed.

“Instead of governing the State, the only focus of the present PDA Government led by NDPP is to break the lone opposition party workers and its Legislature Wing,” it claimed.

Further stating the Naga public was the best judge that the “NDPP leadership is still proud of revisiting the past crisis which was a creation of their leader instead of clarifying the issues raised by the NPF Party,” it termed the achievement made by the NDPP in breaking other coalition partners as “remarkable.”

The NDPP leadership playing their political game was “undemocratic and unbecoming,” the NPF pointed out, while adding that “the usual game plan of present Chief Minister with the wisest policy of use and throw is visible to all.”

NPF CYW dispels misconception

Meanwhile, the Central Youth Wing (CYW) of the NPF today dispelled the “misconception and false impression created by the resignation of erstwhile office-bearers from the NPF Youth Wing.” It asserted confidence that the functional part of the NPF Youth Wing “has not been affected at all by their resignation.”

The NPF youth wing termed the act of erstwhile office-bearers who joined the NDPP as “political-adventuring.”

“While they were in office, they had no desire whatsoever to shoulder corporate responsibilities demanded by their designation and were solely occupied in furthering their personal interests. It may be mentioned that, the disgruntled lot erstwhile office bearers were looking for an excuse to jump the fence and their defection was expected much earlier than this,” Media Cell, NPF CYW claimed in a press statement.

When the NPF could not form the Government, “the so-called handful of group instead of playing their role as responsible opposition was very much restless,” the statement added.

The youth wing further stated that their defection has a measure of desperation, as “they were unable to convince the NPF leadership to elevate their position in the new party set-up that is going to come into effect after the Party Convention.”

“We suspect that their defection at this juncture, just when the NPF Party is about to effect an organizational restructuring is a futile effort to avoid the ignominy of being dropped from the NPF Youth Wing,” it mentioned.

“We can only wait and observe whether their personal ambitions will be realized by joining the NDPP and whether their new benefactors will bestow the trust and confidence that they desire upon them.”

Meanwhile, it held belief that the Wing will become “more dynamic now that the aspect of cumbersomeness has been unwittingly addressed.”
