NECU conducts TESOL training

Dimapur, December 17 (MExN): A 5-week TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) training was conducted for teachers at the North East Christian University (NECU), Dimapur, from October 15 to November 16 under the aegis of its coordinator and assistant coordinator, Neisakuonuo Tungoe and Arenkala Kichu.

The trainers were sent by Asia’s Center for TESOL (ACTESOL), Chiang Mai, Thailand. TESOL training is an intensive and rigorous training for Christians who are interested in teaching English to people of other language backgrounds, comparable in academic and practical rigor to the CELTA course conducted by the British Council, but with a strong Biblical worldview and intensive pastoral care of trainees to enable them to master the course practicalities and assignments.

NECU plans to organize it annually, hence, interested candidates can keep in touch with NECU for next year’s TESOL training. Furthermore, a short-term training course on ‘Accountancy and Management of Church Accounts’ for handling church finance and accounts will be held on the month of January 2019.
