Neingusa-ü wins Kohima Dist level science seminar

Neingusa-ü Zatsu, a class 9 student of Mezhur Higher Secondary School Kohima was declared as the winner of the Kohima District Level Science Seminar 2018 held at Mezhur Higher Secondary School Kohima under the topic “Industrial revolution (IR) 4.0: Are we prepared ?.”  

Vijayanand V Thomas (class 9) of St Mary’s Cathedral HSS stood second position while Akap T Yenlunghu (class 10) of Holy Cross HSS stood and Supolepden Kichu (class 9) of Fernwood School bagged 3rd ad 4th position respectively.  

The winner Neingusa-ü Zatsu will represent Kohima district at the forthcoming state level science seminar scheduled for September 21 at GHSS Dimapur.  

Earlier, gracing the inaugural function, Wonthungo Tsopoe, director, School education exhorted the students to adopt scientific temper.  

He stressed that Nagas are second to none in all aspects but lack of proper planning, motivation and facilities has hampered the overall progress.  

Highlighting the importance of science in daily life in a wake of the industrial revolution, he suggested that there should be sufficient laboratory facilities in all the school to motivate the students.  

He said our brain has not been explored due to lack of motivation.  

Tsopoe maintained that the state needs more scientists and technocrats to develop the state.   The inaugural function was chaired by Kaitunchap Newmai, JEO.  

Altogether, 11 schools in and around Kohima joined the competition.
