PDLSA opens Legal Aid Clinic at Chetheba Town


Phek, August 12 (MExN): With an aim to render free legal aid services, Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) opened a Legal Aid Clinic (LAC) at Chetheba Town in Phek district on August 11. N. Longshithung Ezung, District and Session Judge and Chairman PDLSA inaugurated the LAC.


PDLSA also organized a legal awareness programme at Chozuba Town and Chetheba Town. N. Longshithung Ezung along with his team of Panel Lawyers under PDLSA – Shekhotso, Vethothi Vero, Kenie Swuro, and Rukuvolu Vero sensitized the public on various topics such as Village Council Act, NSLSA Scheme, Victim Compensation Scheme, RTI, Consumer Protection, Importance and functions of Legal Services Authority and Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act.


Altogether, 200 people attended the programme, informed a press release. VCM and Village Council Chairmen (VCC) of six villages- Phusachodu village, K. Bawe, K. Basa, Chesezu village, Chetheba and Thenyizumi village attended the legal awareness programme at Chetheba, while VCC, VCM and DBs of Runguzu village, Runguzu Nasa, Runguzu Nawe, Chozu Nasa and Chozuba Town attended the legal awareness programme at Chozuba.



Para-Legal Volunteers induction training concludes


Kohima, August 12 (MExN): The three-day induction training of the Para-Legal Volunteers organized by Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) at Directorate of State Institute of Rural Development on August 10.


Delivering the valedictory address, Namjok Konyak, Additional Secretary Department of Justice and Law congratulated the PLVs for attending the training and urged to implement whatever they have learnt during the training in their respective districts. He also gave away certificates to the participants.


Tongpang L Jamir, Master Trainer (Panel Lawyer) NSLSA spoke on Consumer Protection Act/Parctical/how to identify cases under Consumer Protection, Joshua Sheqi, Legal Aid Counsel-cum-Trainer NSLSA spoke on practical class on Right to Information Act. Experience sharing was delivered by L. Pukho Meyo of Tuensang DLSA, Tingkai Konyak, Mon DLSA and Wobenthung J Patton of Wokha DLSA.



NSS GHSS Pfutsero observes Swatchhta Pakhwada


Kohima, August 12 (MExN): NSS unit GHSS Pfutsero launched the observance of “Swatchhta Pakhwada” in Pfutsero by conducting cleanliness drive at the school compound. “Swatchhta Pakhwada” is being observed from August 1 and will continue till August 15. The NSS will be expanding its activity of cleanliness drive during this period.


At the short inaugural programme today, Kelhikha Kenye, Vice principal GHSS Pfutsero exhorted the students to cultivate the habit of voluntary spirit towards community service and make difference in the society as NSS volunteers. Vevosayi Tetseo Programme Officer NSS also challenged the students to be always prepared to render community service not only in the school but wherever they are.


He explained the purpose of “Cleanliness Forthnight” campaign launched throughout the state by State NSS to spread awareness on cleanliness and make the Swatchh Bharat campaign successful. He also urged the volunteers to spread the message of cleanliness to people wherever they are to make India a truly cleaner and better place.
