6th Nagaland Spelling Bee Championship
Kohima, August 12 (MExN): The 6th edition of the Nagaland Spelling Bee Championship jointly organised by the SCERT Nagaland and Fountain Club Kohima will be held on September 28 and 29 at the Capital Convention Centre. The Championship will be open to students of classes 7 to 10 only studying in schools of Nagaland unlike the previous editions (Class 11 & 12 discontinued). Each school can be represented by a maximum of two bonafide students duly endorsed by the school authority. “All other competition rules & regulations remain same,” stated a press release issued by Fountain Club Secretary Kevisavi Hibo. Entry forms (with contest rules and regulations) can be availed from SCERT & DIETs, authorized outlets and the official website www.fountainclub.in. PHH rice distribution in Purana Bazaar
Dimapur, August 12 (MExN): The GB of Purana Bazaar, Ntongsi Ngullie has informed all the Primary Household (PHH) ration card holders of Purana Bazaar that there will be a distribution of PHH rice on August 14 at the Council Hall, Purana Bazaar. All the card holders concerned have been informed to come and collect the rice according to the following schedule: Model colony – 7:00 am to 10:00 am; Jorapukhri – 10:00 am to 11:00 am; New colony – 11:00 am to 12:00 pm; Mt View colony – 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm; Middle colony – 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm; High School colony – 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
GPRN/NSCN discharges one
Dimapur, August 12 (MExN): GPRN/NSCN has terminated the service of 2nd Lieut Manon, Army No. 19628, of Konyak region for “indulging in illegal collection of tax, extortion and harassing public.” The discharge order dated August 8 and signed by Brig. Aheto Chophi, GSO-I (Adm), General Headquarters, Naga Army comes into immediate effect.
NPGN/NNC (NA) invites to I-Day celebration
Kohima, August 12 (MExN): The NPGN/NNC (NA) has informed all the rank and file of its government to attend the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Naga Independence Day on August 14. All the well wishers, NGOs, church leaders etc have also been invited to attend the celebration.
MITE organizes psychology workshop
Kohima, August 12 (MExN): Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima conducted a two-day psychology workshop on August 10-11 at the college premises with resource person Lovika P Shikhu, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, Nagaland University. A day each was assigned to the 1st Semester and 2nd Semester along with their respective teaching faculty, informed a press release from MITE principal. A talk on mental health, stress and depression was delivered in the first session. In the second session, the importance and uses of psychological test in the field of education was emphasized.
