NLA session on Dec 14-15

Kohima, December 6 (MExN): The 19th session of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly will be held for two days from December 14-15. The session will have Obituary References; Presentation of the Select Committee Report; Laying of Reports/Papers/ Rules; Introduction of Government Bills, if any; Presentation of Assembly Committee Reports; and Unfinished Business, if any. The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) had finalized the Provisional Programme of the session during a meeting held on December 5 under the Chairmanship of NLA Speaker Dr. Imtiwapang Aier, informed a press release from NLA Commissioner & Secretary N Benjamin Newmai.


ANDMSA laments govt’s silence; to intensify agitation

Kohima, December 6 (MExN): As the ANDMSA state-wide agitation entered its 7th day, the central All Nagaland District Ministerial Service Association (ANDMSA) today lamented that “step motherly” treatment is meted towards district ministerial services as there has been no response from the government till the time of issuing this press statement. As such, it said, the agitation will be intensified to express “strong resentment” till the government responds positively. The Association also reiterated its three charters of demand submitted earlier to the government. Meanwhile, lauding all the members of the 11 district units and volunteers for their sacrifice thus far, the ANDMSA central office called upon all to remain united and resilient. The Association also appealed to the general public to bear with the inconvenience and also requested to extend cooperation.


Applicants selected for Dimapur Night Carnival

Dimapur, December 6 (MExN): The list of applicants selected for opening stalls during the Dimapur Night Carnival (DNC) has been pasted at Akki Infra- Tech & Logistics, Hotel Trinity Building near Police Commissioner Office here. One may also call 03862-230962 for the same. All selected applicants have been requested to get the stall permit between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm from December 7 to 9. A press release from DNC 2017 Media Cell further informed all applicants who have not been selected that in the event of any cancellation by any selected allottee, preference will be given to those who have opted for varieties other than food stall.


AR apprehend alleged NSCN (IM) cadre

Dimapur, December 6 (MExN): 32 Assam Rifles apprehended one alleged NSCN (IM) cadre identified as Abdul Hasim (41), Rajapeyu during an operation launched along with a police representative at Super Market here on December 5. A press release from Assam Rifles informed that one .32 mm pistol, two magazines, 12 live rounds, one arms license, one assignment order letter of NSCN (IM) dated April 24, 2017 signed by Ghokuto Chopy, Secretary UT-I, NSCN (IM) and Indian currency amounting to Rs. 5,59,000/- were recovered from his possession. The apprehended individual along with recovered items was handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation, the release added.


GPF/CPF/AISPF interest rates revised

Kohima, December 6 (DIPR): The Government of India has recently revised the rates of interest on GPF/CPF/AISPF etc. Consequently, the Governor of Nagaland has revised the rates of interest accruing on GPF/CPF/AISPF etc as below: From April 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017 – 7.9%; July 1, 2017 to September 30, 2017 – 7.8%.


NSCN (IM) mourns

Dimapur, December 6 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has mourned the demise of KR Saul, who passed away on December 5 at Maram Sagongbam Village after a prolonged illness. Late Saul of Maram Thangal region joined the national service in July 2008 and served the Naga nation till his demise in the rank of Section Officer in the Cabinet Office, a message from the Cabinet Secretary to the GPRN, DG Robert stated. The GPRN expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
