BAD bans Christmas donations

Dimapur, December 12 (MExN): In concurrence with the previous Darogapathar Village Council resolution, the Business Association of Darogapathar (BAD) has banned any form of Christmas donations, sale of lotteries or calendars, and any such activities/demands in lieu of money. Informing this in a press release, BAD also thanked the Darogapathar Village Council, Darogapathar Action Committee, Darogapathar Youth Organisation (Quick Response Team), Commissioner of Police, East Police Station, and Diphupar Police Station for their constant support in controlling law and order problems.

 

Ongpangkong Senso Telongjem slams kidnapping

Dimapur, December 12 (MExN): The Ongpangkong Senso Telongjem, Dimapur has condemned the act of “unknown miscreants” in kidnapping Imtilepden, Secretary, Development Authority of Nagaland on December 3 around 8:30 pm from his official quarter at Super Market here. The incident, according to the Telongjem, has caused him mental and physical torture. Maintaining that this kind of “cowardly activities is not acceptable in Naga society,” it requested the law enforcing agencies to search and book the accused and give them befitting punishment to avoid recurrence of such incidents. “The Ongpangkong Senso Telongjem will not be a silent spectator but will take appropriate steps to search till the culprit is brought to justice,” asserted a statement from President Imkongtemsü and Secretary Toshilemba.
Ex-servicemen rally held in Dimapur

Kohima, December 12 (MExN): An ex-servicemen rally was conducted at Rangapahar, Dimapur on December 12 under the aegis of the Spear Corps of the Army. Over 200 ex-servicemen and Veer Naris attended the event, which not only provided a platform for addressing various concerns of the ex-servicemen but also re-invigorated their association with the Army, stated a press release from Col C Konwer, PRO (Defence). Various stalls at the event extended assistance regarding health, banking, resettlement, pension issues, Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), and recruitment information/facilities. Earlier, the event commenced with inauguration by Maj Gen Atanu K Pattanaik, SM, Chief of Staff of the Spear Corps, which was followed by sharing of information on provisions and facilities for the ex-servicemen and their dependents by representatives of the District Administration. War Veteran team from the World War II and six Veer Naris were also felicitated during the rally.
