Career guidance & counseling in Zapami

Kohima, May 8 (MExN): A career guidance and counseling cum interaction with Village Development Board (VDB) of Zapami village will take place on May 12 at Heritage Hall, Zapami village under Phek district. Dr. Hovithal Sothu, Deputy Director (Training) & Course Coordinator (NCS), Administrative Training Institute (ATI) will be the speaker.


Teacher educators’ conference

Kohima, May 8 (MExN): The inaugural programme of the 1st All Nagaland Teacher Educators Conference, organised by the Department of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) will be held on May 10 at SIEMAT conference hall, SCERT at 10:00 am. Advisor, IPR, SCERT and Village Guards, Toshi Wungtong will be the guest speaker.


WSKH against hampering four-lane construction

Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): The Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) while appreciating the ongoing works of four-lane highway between Dimapur and Kohima has stated that it will not “tolerate” any organisation or individual creating any sort of problem that will hamper the ongoing works of the said highway in its jurisdiction. In a statement, WSKH informed that a resolution to facilitate smooth execution of the highway construction works within WSKH jurisdiction was adopted in its meeting held on May 7. Opining that the four-lane highway once completed will be beneficial for the entire populace of the State, it said all sections of Naga society should encourage timely completion of the project.


AIGDF zonal conference on May 12

Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): 29 members of All Nagaland Government Drivers’ Association (ANGDA) will attend the Zonal Conference Meeting of All India Government Drivers’ Federation (ANGDA), North East Zone scheduled for May 12 at State Academy of Training Hall, Takyelpat, Imphal, Manipur. The team will be led by Neiviseituo Rino, ANGDA president, Ruokuoselie Yhome, Publicity & Information Secretary, AND&DGDU, and Medoneizo Sanchu, Joint Secretary, AIGDF North East Zone. The conference will be held under the theme ‘Essential Knowledge and Responsibility of the Drivers for the purpose of Development of the State.’


Awareness on HIV & AIDS

Dimapur, May 8 (DIPR): District Aids Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) in collaboration with 41 Assam Rifles organized an awareness programme on prevention of AIDS and free medical camp on May 7 at SFS Higher Secondary School, Medziphema. During the camp, Colonel Udai Bhanu briefed the students about the negative effects of HIV & AIDS infection, medical treatment and stigma associated with it. A short seminar was conducted where the speakers talked about the challenges and issues faced by the aging population with regard to HIV prevention and medical issues. The campaign was conducted with an aim to create awareness and eliminate HIV & AIDS from the society.
