100th year Naga Labour Corps to France celebration
Kohima, May 10 (MExN): The 100th year anniversary of Liyai Khullen village Naga Labour Corps to France would be celebrated on May 12, 10am at Liyai Khullen village (Zhaimai) with minister PHED, printing and stationery Manipur as the chief guest and President Naga Hoho P. AR interacts with army veterans
Phek, May 10 (MExN): Chieswema Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted an interaction programme with ex servicemen of Army and Assam Rifles at Chiephobozou village on May 9. It was stated in a press release that five veterans of Assam Rifles and Army from Chiechama, Nerhema and Old Gariphema village under Chiephobozou Sub-Division attended the interaction. The aim of interaction was to know the grievances of the veterans and spread awareness about government schemes, pension benefits, recruitment schemes and various welfare schemes.
HYS informs on open drawing competition
Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): Hindu Yuva Sanga (HYS) is organizing its 5th open drawing competition cum felicitation for merit holders of HSLC and HSSLC Candidates, 2018 on June 17, 2018 at Ramjanaki Higher Secondary School from 9:00 am onwards. According to a press release, the drawing competition is divided into 5 categories. Category 1- Class A and B, Category 2- Class 1 to 3, Category 3- Class 4 to 6, Category 4- Class 7 to 9, Category 5- Class 10 and above. Lecture on health and sanitation
Mokokchung, May 10 (MExN): Mokokchung battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted a lecture on health and sanitation for the local populace of Mokokchung Town on May 8. AR press release stated that Capt Sourav Dhand educated the locals about importance of good health for individuals and their families. Special Emphasis was laid on mental stress which is one of the most common lifestyle diseases in modern times. The lecture also covered sanitation awareness encompassing proper waste disposal cleanliness of the surroundings and prevention of stagnation of water, to prevent diseases like malaria, dengue, flue etc, during rainy season. The lecture was attended by 20 locals.
NSUP informs Naga students
Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): Naga students planning to pursue studies in Pune have been informed by the Naga Students’ Union Pune (NSUP) to contact the union and get proper verification from them for any matters relating to admissions and colleges. It was informed in a press release that the NSUP admission committee will assist in taking admission and give other necessary guidance. SNUNS felicitation cum career guidance
Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): The South Nagas Union of Nagaland State (SNUNS) will organize a ‘felicitation cum career guidance’ programme for HSLC and HSSLC passed students of 2018, soon after the results. A press release by SNUNS, President, Joe Ngamkhuchung stated that the proposed function will award both meritorious students securing position within Top 20 ranks and those securing 80% and above in individual subjects during HSLC and HSSLC Examination 2018. A career guidance session will be organized for parents and students, he added. The Union further requests its federating tribes, to make a list of their respective HSLC and HSSLC students, who have appeared and passed their HSLC and HSSLC examination during 2018 session. Tuensang DPDB meeting held
Tuensang, May 10 (DIPR): District Planning and Development Board, Tuensang held its monthly meeting on May 10 at DC’s Conference Hall under the chairmanship of DC & Vice Chairman DPDB Tuensang, L. Jamithung Lotha. The Chairman welcomed the new member, Dr. Moa, MS, District Hospital Tuensang. He also thanked the District Administration, Police and ENPO for timely and safely release of abduct driver and handyman. After reviewing the last meeting minutes, powerpoint presentation on departmental activities was presented by the departments of Irrigation &Flood Control and forest. The Power Department has been entrusted to present Power Point Presentation in the next meeting. The chairman also informed that the felicitation programme in honour of the elected members of Tuensang District will be differed to May 15.
