Arms license holders informed

Mokokchung, May 11 (MExN): In view of the bye-election to Nagaland parliamentary constituency 2018, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal (IAS) has informed all the arms license holders under Mokokchung district to produce arms license for verification as per the address given in the license on or before May 15. Failure to produce the license for verification within the stipulated time will result in cancellation of the license under appropriate section of law, it was cautioned.

 

Training for polling personnel

Kohima, May 11 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer of Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan (IAS) has informed that the first round of training for Presiding Officers, 1st Polling Officers, 2nd Polling Officers, 3rd Polling Officers, Additional Polling Officers for VVPAT and Grade-IV staff in connection with the ensuing bye-election to the Nagaland parliamentary constituency 2018 will be held on May 14 and 15 at Kohima College, Kohima at 10:30 am.

 

Bike recovered

Dimapur, May 11 (MExN): The authorities of the Unified Command Zone I, NSCN (IM) has recovered one Discover Bike (black/red in colour) bearing registration number NL070198, engine number SGBPA 68978, and chassis number D2D505ZZPCA7Z258 on May 10. Therefore, a press release from Major Simon, Adjutant, Unified Command Zone I, NSCN (IM) has asked the rightful owner to claim the bike by producing genuine and authentic relevant documents within ten days with effect from the publication of this notice. GPRN/NSCN discharges three

Dimapur, May 11 (MExN): GPRN/NSCN has discharged three people from active national service with immediate effect. Kitoli, Khapur under Sumi Region was discharged on “domestic grounds” by the Ministry of Kilo Affairs, GPRN/NSCN, while Hovito Aye, PO of VK Town under Sumi Region was discharged because of his “anti national activities,” stated press releases issued by R Sangtam from Ministry of Information & Publicity, GPRN/NSCN. A separate press release from NG Chishi, MIP (ASO), GPRN/NSCN informed that the office of Chief Secretary has discharged Teresa, Sectional Officer, Ministry of Kilo Affairs on “domestic ground.”

 

PVHSS observes 157th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore

Dimapur, May 11 (MExN): Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, Dimapur observed 157th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, the world poet on May 9 at Pranab Jubilee Auditorium. Monoj Bhattacharjee, Principal, PVHSS in a press release informed that the programme was conducted in three phases. A garlanding ceremony of Shri Shri Guru Maharaj, Kabi Guru Rabindranath Tagore and Srimat Swami Vijayanandaji Maharaj and floral tribute to Late Manik Bhattacharjee, Founder Secretary of PVHSS and his associates was also held. Presentation on ‘Nature and Rabindranath’ and other cultural performances were highlights of the programme. Speeches on the topic ‘the great personality of Past, Present and Future’ were delivered by the students and teachers. Swami Chinmayanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, PVHSS & in-charge, Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Dimapur & Karbi Anglong district, Assam delivered the words of blessings.

 

NSCN (R) suspends one

Dimapur, May 11 (MExN): The NSCN (R) has suspended Toshi Imchen, Kilonser for an “indefinite period” during its Cabinet meeting on May 7. A press release issued by the group’s MIP stated that Toshi was “found to have involved in arbitrary misuse of powers and functions and also conducting independent inquiries, regarding the Ao Regional Affairs, without any consultations from the higher Authorities.” The “inappropriate action” of Toshi, the release stated, contravened with the group’s discipline and attracts penalty under clause C (Security) of serial 4 and clause D (Anti- Social Activities) serial 2. The release directed the suspended individual to submit government’s property with immediate effect while banning him in the involvement of any Government affairs whatsoever during the suspension period. The Cabinet also resolved to initiate re-construction of the Ao Regional Affairs and as such, suspended the Ao region till further order.
