BJP Wokha to celebrate NDA achievement

Wokha, June 5 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wokha district will be celebrating the “4th year BJP led NDA achievement” with Advisor for Power Tovihoto and BJP State General Secretary Jaangsiliung Gongmei on June 7 at the party district office at 11:00 am. N. Nchumbemo Jami, general secretary, BJP Wokha district in a press release has invited all the district and frontals office bearers, mandals office bearers, and party Karyakartas to attend the event without fail.


CBCK fathers camp from June 8

Kohima, June 5 (MExN): The men ministry of Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima will be conducting fathers’ camp from June 8 to 10 at Mount Tabor, Kohima under the theme ‘Let us build our home’. The speakers of the camp will include Rev. Dr. Kevekhalo Lasuh, Athono Rhakho, Rev. Vezopa Rhakho, Dr. Vetso Koza, Rev. Khrotso Mero, Rothihü Tetseo, Niehusa Nakro, Jolayi Nienu, Neikhwezü Venuh, Theja Therie, and Dr. Chothayi Nienu.


Dimapur Excise seize liquor

Dimapur, June 5 (MExN): The Dimapur district Excise duty party manning the Excise check gate in Chumukedima recovered 21 cases of IMFL from a vehicle (As-01 AV-2141) on June 2 around 1:30 am. Two persons identified as Arun Kumar Mahto and Ajay were arrested in this connection and penalized under the NLTP Act ’89, stated a press release from Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, T Arilong Longkumer. On the same day around 11:45 am, the duty party intercepted two more vehicles bearing registration numbers NL07-0680 and NL01C-8689 and seized 10 cases and 20 cases of assorted IMFL respectively. In this regard, two accused Ikuto and P Setrichem Sangtam were booked as per the relevant section of the NLTP Act, the release added.


Y Anner village appeals for help

Tuensang, June 5 (MExN): Y Anner Village Council today informed that most of the paddy fields in the village have been destroyed by continuous rain. Y Anner village under Shamator sub-division of Tuensang district is one of few villages where 70% of farming is paddy cultivation, it noted. “The poor villagers have no other option but to tie up their stomach after next harvest until the state government comes to rescue,” the village council chairman Y Rikhum added in a press statement. The village council appealed to the relief and rehabilitation department to “visit the spot and rehabilitate accordingly and not by namesake as before.” It also requested the irrigation & flood control department, Government of Nagaland and disaster management department to inspect the current situation and help the poor farmers with appropriate measures.


Training on poultry farming held

Peren, June 5 (MExN): Training on artificial insemination and poultry farming was held on June 5 at Town Hall, Peren for VDB, Peren district. The program was organized by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Peren with technical support from Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) Medziphema to enhance the capacity of the rural populace on common work and income generation activities, stated a DIPR report. Resource person Dr. Epibeni Ngullie imparted knowledge on brooding management, chicks care etc.
