Checking of water bills in Kohima

Kohima, June 11 (MExN): Executive Engineer of PHED, Kohima Urban Division Er. Vikeduolie has informed water supply consumers from Meter House-44, located next to the section office of the Junior Engineer, PHED at PWD, above D.C. Workshop, that checking of water bills will be carried out from June 18-22. He also informed all water supply consumers that checking of water bills will be carried out from June 25 onwards to curb illegal connections and improve distribution lines. Consumers must produce their receipt of water bills as proof to continue using the water supply, the EE stated in a press release. “Failure to produce receipt will be penalized as per code of PHED consumer rules or immediate disconnection,” he added. Meanwhile, the consumers have been requested to bear with the inconvenience during the period as supply services may be disrupted.


Councils prohibit dumping of waste

Dimapur, June 11 (MExN): The Forest Colony Council and Midland Colony Council in Dimapur have prohibited dumping of waste within their jurisdiction, especially the stretch opposite Little Star Hr. Secondary School to Nepali Basti Gate. “The Joint Council shall monitor the area at all times and the defaulters shall compulsorily be penalised Rs. 5000,” cautioned a press release from chairmen of the two councils. Further, both the councils welcomed the initiative of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) to develop the area under Clean Dimapur Initiative and assured full cooperation towards the success of the program.
