NF records quantum leap in ticket earnings

Maligaon, November 15 (MExN): During the month of October this year, NF Railway’s earnings from Ticket Checking Drive has shown remarkable improvement. The railway has recorded an increase of 83.03% in earnings from unauthorised passengers travelling in October over the corresponding month of last year. Railway Board fixes monthly and cumulative targets for all zones based on the performance of the zone in the preceding year. Earning for the month of October is 32.02% higher than the target set by Railway Board for this Railway for the month.   A press note from the NFR informed that it has recorded 09.42% growth in earnings from the unauthorised passengers during April to October 2017 as compared to the corresponding period of last year despite disruption of train operation between Northeast with rest of country in August of this year due to devastating flood.   During the month of October, 2017 penalty earned from drives against unauthorised travel was Rs.505.20 lakh as against the earnings of Rs.276.02 lakh for the same month of last year. There had been 73630 nos unauthorised passengers detected in October 2017. A total of 3,98,718 unauthorised passengers have been detected and penalised during  April 2017 to October 2017.   This has been achieved only due to consistent efforts of ticket checking staff of the railway. Special drives and fortress checks are conducted on all train routes by all divisions of N F Railway.
