NFHRCC to pay periodic visit to project site

Dimapur, January 20 (MExN): The Nagaland Foot Hill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has now resolved to pay a periodic, hopefully monthly, visit to the Doyang Bridge Construction site at Liphanyan, Governor’s camp, to ascertain the progress in construction of the foothill road.

This was informed in a press release from NFHRCC Convener, Supu Jamir, General Secretary, W Lemba Chang and Secretary, W Chenithung Humtsoe.

On January 19, a two committee member team, including S Yanger Angh and Tsapipa Sangtam, visited the site and interacted with the person in-charge of the construction team and “advised them to complete construction of the bridge piers by this working season.”

The members, the NFHRCC stated, were “fully satisfied with the progress of the construction.”

While applauding the contractor, it appealed to the firm to “maintain the same momentum so as to accomplish the mission within the desired time frame.” The members also appreciated the “unfailing cooperation” provided to the construction team by the Liphanyan Village Council.

Meanwhile, the NFHRCC stated that on December 11, 2018, the Committee had met the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, at his Sovima Residence Office to remind him about the issuing of work orders for the remaining uncut portions. The CM, according to the NFHRCC, had written a note to the Principal Secretary (R&B), Government of Nagaland, to “examine and to take up the case on priority as requested.”

In this light, the Committee appealed the CM to “immediately act upon” what was assured so that confusion in the minds of the public may be erased and the “historic project” accomplished at the earliest.
