NFR records 36% increase in additional berths

Guwahati, October 17 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has recorded 36% increase in additional berths by adding coaches to existing services, an official informed today.   During April to October, as many as 56 coaches have been added in 28 mail express trains resulting in the generation of 4078 additional berths, informed a press release from NFR CPRO Pranav Jyoti Sharma.   During 2016-17, as many as 26 coaches have been added in 17 trains leading to the creation of 3004 additional berths, it said.   “The first seven months of the current Financial Year alone there has been an increase of 36% in the volume of additional berths generated in existing services, it added.   With the NFR going all out for addition of coaches, the figure is expected to grow higher with progress of current financial year, the CPRO further maintained.
