NFR to restore more passenger trains

Gauhati, September 11 (MExN): With the issuance of fitness certificate with speed restriction, the service of 16 more passenger trains will be restored, an NFR official informed today.


The trains were suspended after flood affected the down line portion between Telta and Sudhani stations under Katihar Division of Northeast Frontier Railway.


The 16 trains are in addition to trains like Rajdhani Express, NE Express, Kamrup Express, Radhikapur-Kolkata Express, Kanchanjungha Express (3 pairs), Saraighat Express, Guwahati – Secunderabad Express, Avadh Assam Express, Capital Express (2 pairs), Kamakhya – Gandhidham Express, Guwahati – Okha Dwarka Express whose services have been restored after repair to UP line approach of bridge no 133 have been carried out.


The situation at site is being monitored 24×7 by railway officials and work is in progress to ease the speed restriction by increasing it to 45 KMPH so that more passenger trains can be restored to and from northeast India, NFR CPRO PJ Sharma informed in a press release.
