NFR’s earnings shows marked improvement

  Guwahati, August 10 (MExN): The earnings of N.F Railway (NFR) has improved remarkably during first six-month of 2017, an official maintained today.   During the period from January to July, NFR's earnings from various segments have shown remarkable improvement. It also recorded 12.12% growth in number of passenger which is highest among all Zones, NFR Chief Public Relations Officer Pranav Jyoti Sharma informed in a press release.   Earnings from penalties during drives against ticketless travel were Rs. 27.01 crores against a target of Rs. 25.02 crores, an increase of 47.76% over the corresponding period of last year, the CRPO said.   Sharma also informed that originating passenger earnings has also increased to Rs. 1,009.40 crores against a target of Rs. 940.68 crores, an increase of 7.730% over the corresponding period of last year.   “Originating goods earnings has also increased to Rs. 783.18 crores against a target of 765.63 crores an increase of 16.25% over the corresponding period of last year,” he added.   With the opening of two new PRS (Passenger Reservation System) centres and three new UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) centres between January and July, the total number of UTS centres in NFR has also increased to 379.
