NGTC ‘Installation Prayer’ prog held

Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Garo Tribal Council, the apex civil organization of the Garos of Nagaland, organised an “Installation Prayer Programme” at Garo Baptist Church, Chumoukedima on August 13 with Hopejoy Sharu, Pastor, Pochury Baptist Church, Chumoukedima, as the speaker.  

According to a press release, Sharu, in his message, congratulated the office bearers of NGTC and encouraged them to work united for the betterment and welfare of the people by “forgiving and forgetting our past mistakes.” Terming the Garos as “aboriginal tribe of Nagaland” and “very much part and parcel of the land”, Sharu advised the gathering to build a better society without “isms”.

Other highlights of the programme included special numbers by Garo Baptist Youth Fellowship and members of the Garo Baptist Church, Chumoukedima.
