In a quest to promote live music and local artistes, The Niathu Group in collaboration with Nagaland’s newest rock offering “Lords Of Rock (LOR)” is all set to present an unplugged live and acoustic night. LOR consists of front man: Clement Imsong, bassist: Akihito Zhimomi, guitarists: Toshimoa Jamir and Imkumer Jamir, and drummer: Alemtemsu Ozukum.
Preparations are underway at the lovely grounds of Niathu Resort, 7th Mile, Chumukedima to host the show on August 12 from 7:00 PM onwards. Production partners for the event are Audio Garage, Shiu Lights, Rain Drop Entertainment.
During a press meet held today at the venue, front man of LOR, Clement Imsong said that this event is special because it’s one of the first unplugged acoustic shows to go live on social media Facebook. He further stated, “There are many people who love our music but unable to attend live shows for varied reasons. There are also many rock fans in the Northeast so this is an attempt to reach out to as many fans of Rock n Roll as we can.”
The band also acknowledged that there is a lack of platforms for artistes to perform regularly and therefore applauded Niathu Group’s interest and initiative to host live events. “We hope it becomes a regular event,” they added enthusiastically.
Khroku Nuh, Sales and Marketing Manager, Niathu Group remarked that they are here on a serious note. He explained, “In the ever changing music industry, we are looking for long time collaboration with artistes who are serious about their music. We also felt the need for venues to host events and promote local talent. We are looking forward to hosting events and promoting artistes in our establishments.”
“So far, we have hosted three live music shows in Kohima and this will be the third in Dimapur. Our focus is on promoting artistes who are serious about their work. We also want to create events which are suitable for young children and families to come and enjoy,” he stated.
As for the show, LOR which is gaining popularity for their vision to revive classic rock music and delivering the sound and feel of the 80’s Rock n’ Roll scene, stated, “This time around we’ve decided to take it down a notch. Expect tracks from Foreigner, Eagles, Toto and some of our original compositions,” they said.
