NIELIT Kohima ICT skill training underway

Kohima, April 7 (MExN): The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima is conducting ‘ICT skill training program for state government employees’ that began on April 7 under the theme- ‘Preparing Northeast for Digital India.’  

Er. Lanuwabang, Director i/c, NIELIT Kohima, in his keynote address mentioned that the training program is a part of the ongoing, nationwide Digital India initiatives, with the objective to fill the ICT skill gaps and enhance capacity building in NE. It is being undertaken in association with National e-Governance Division (NeGD) Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Govt. of India and the Dept. of IT & C, Govt. of Nagaland. As the training is to be imparted to government employees of state departments by NIELIT Kohima, he also urged the trainees for sincere participation, given the present day-need for trained and dedicated employees on e-Governance for better citizen-centric and other services through good governance.

  Altogether 40 trainees representing 10 departments make up the current, first batch and the training will continue till April 22. Subsequent batch-wise trainings will follow thereafter. Under this programme, the targeted number of government employees to be trained is 1300.
