No compromise on sovereignty, integrity of Nagas: NPGN

Dimapur, September 17 (MExN): The National People’s Government of Nagaland/Naga National Council (Non-Accord) has resolved to stand firm on the May 16, 1951 Naga Plebiscite, and maintained that any decision regarding the Indo-Naga political issue, should be made after consultation with the entire stakeholders in the interest of the Nagas.  

The decision was made during the group’s National Tatar Hoho session on September 10. A press release from MIP, NPGN/NNC (N/A) informed that the house also resolved to work towards unity of entire Naga National Political Groups and to bring them under a common platform in order to solve the long protracted Indo-Naga political problem in the spirit of unity and justice.  

It further resolved not to compromise on the sovereignty and integrity of the Nagas under any circumstances. The NPGN/NNC (N/A) also resolved to seek third party intervention, if necessary, to bring about permanent and fair settlement with justice in the Indo-Naga issue as per the international court of law.  

Meanwhile the house unanimously elected K.K Ducca as Tatar Hoho Speaker of NPGN/NNC (N/A) with effect from September 10. Ducca, the press release said, pledged to render his service for the welfare of the Government and the entire Naga citizens. He also appealed to the house to maintain the decorum and encouraged the members to serve the nation in the spirit of justice and honesty.  

Home Kilonser of NPGN/NNC (N/A) urged the house to cooperate with the new Speaker and maintain transparency in all aspects for the uplift and welfare of the Nagas in general.  

Moreover, the house decided to conduct half yearly audit on September 30. In this regard, all the officials/Kilonsers concerned have been directed to submit the entire activity report and cash amount to the treasurer on or before September 27 without fail.  

Further, as per earlier information, individuals who had failed to attend the Tatar Hoho have been directed to submit valid reason as to why action should not be taken upon them. Absentees are to clarify their position on or before September 25, the MIP said. In case of failure to comply with this notice, stern action will be taken as per the law of the land, it warned.
